As a member of the Engineering Operations Department you will play a key role on an engaged team focused on customer success as part of a high growth company with rapidly developing vertical expansion, to include Federal and commercial markets. Our software solutions and services are empowering our customers to excel in widely diverse missions by mastering their data and making better-informed decisions much more efficiently, addressing critical needs of the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, law enforcement, international government & military partners, wildlife conservation groups, and the finance and casino gaming industries - just to name a few.
We’re seeking a highly skilled individual who will thrive on leading on-site enterprise product delivery while often working independently, resolving engineering challenges in customer settings and collaborating with our customers to ensure their success with our products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical on-site delivery of our enterprise software products and services in a wide variety of government and commercial environments.
- Work closely with other groups, including Development, Product Support Engineering and Program and Product Management to ensure successful deployment of our products and services.
- Implement and adhere to security procedures such as Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIGs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability (IAVA).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Engineering/Science degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent with relevant skills
- Five (5) to Ten (10) years of relevant experience, including Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience with installation, maintenance and administering Linux servers, and applications
- Strong Linux knowledge and skills including CentOS/RedHat, System Administration, User Management, Process Management, Services Management, Networking, Firewalls, SELinux
- Strong expertise in Security, SSH, TLS, Security Certificates, Encryption
- Strong scripting skills including Bash, other scripting/programming experience a plus
- Strong expertise with Linux servers, clusters and applications including installation, configuration and management
- Strong diagnostics and debugging skills to address server, services, networking and application issues
- Ability to document the installation and diagnostics recipes, as well as advise and guide other team members
- Some travel will be required (up to 15%) within the metro DC area – to include some international travel as well
- Active TS/SCI clearance required, DHS BI a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Linux system administration experience on government accredited network
- Experience working with AWS, Azure, Virtualization technologies, VMWare
- Experience setting up and managing Nginx, STunnel, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch a plus
- Experience working with CM tools, processes and best practices, including Git
- Certifications of CompTIA Security+ and Red Hat Certified System Administrator
- Backups and restores, experience in disaster recovery and high availability a plus
- Experience working with Agile software development teams
- Strong ability to work independently taking high level directions and putting the solution in place
- Understanding and ability to support always-on, always-up services
- Fast learner, ability to research and pick up new technologies and skills
- Strong acumen in delivering software on Government networks/systems & security requirements, to include software accreditation requirements on various secure networks.
